From the Master Councilor

Greetings from the East!!  It’s your new Master Councilor. First of all, I would like say thank you to everyone who helped with the Installation. We have a pool party scheduled for July 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Chandler Commons pavilion in Strongsville. The cost for this event is $2.00. It would also be appreciated if each person who attends would bring a dish to share. You should have received the invitation in the mail describing this event. July 16th will be an informal meeting and we will be going to play putt-putt afterwards. On July 27, those people who ordered tickets will be going to the Indians game. August 3rd we will have a Family Bike Ride through the Metroparks. August 6th will be another Stated Meeting and Conclave runs from August 9th through the 12th.  I look forward to seeing lots of you at these upcoming events.

Greetings from the South! First of all, I would like to thank you all for electing me as your new Junior Councilor and I will not let you guys down this term. Right now my plans are to encourage all of our members to bring their friends to our events scheduled this term. I was thinking of holding a prospect party sometime in October for everyone.  I am going to try and get a decent amount of prospects for this term so we can become a leading chapter again!

From our newest Past Master Councilor

Hey guys, I’m sorry to say that June 18, 2007 was my last meeting as Master Councilor, but the good news is we have a great guy replacing me as Master Councilor.  His name, you ask?  His name is Dan “the man” Kozlowski.  Don’t worry, I will still be coming around to the meetings and activities, so you won’t be losing me.  Anyways, I want to thank everybody for coming around and making my term a great one.

This term will be a memorable one for me and I owe it all to you guys.  We had a lot of fun during these past six months, we played basketball numerous times, we went swimming, we chilled while watching football, played pool, bowled, and even flew planes.  We had a great basketball season almost pulling off 2 upsets that would have gone down in 2nd District DeMolay Basketball history.  At the Superbowl Party we had a good time and ragged on Paul (haha) … because he was the only one who thought the Bears were going to win.  All I have to say about pool and billiards is that Will and I reign supreme.

We also had a good term in the meeting room completing both degrees and running the meetings successfully.  I would like to thank everybody for stepping up and taking parts that were needed to be filled, I really appreciated it.  I know that right now were struggling a little bit especially with the membership, but I have faith that we will bounce back soon.  We have the Councilors in place and they can definitely work together and make this chapter as strong as it can be, as well as making events that are fun.  Dan is having his Installation on July 1st and that will mark the beginning of a new successful term.  So to the councilors, I say: “Good luck guys and I will always be around if you need help or have any questions.”

Once again I’m happy that I served in the Office of Master Councilor and I am grateful for everybody’s cooperation.  Peaceeeee.

Sincerely,

 Nick Oberg

Past Master Councilor
